Brief History of Malawi
Malawi is a landlocked country in southeastern Africa with a population of approximately 22 million people. The official language is English, while Chichewa is the national language; the population is predominantly Christian (about 82.3%), with a significant Muslim minority (around 13.8%). The economy is primarily agricultural, with over 80% of the population engaged in subsistence farming. Malawi gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1964.

As with our other Revival outreaches, we purposely work with local pastors and religious leaders well in advance of our Crusades, during the Revivals, and afterwards. We have found this partnership to be the most effective in winning souls for Christ and making solid disciples of the new converts. Because of the large area, and population, we have found that we must be very strategic with our resources (both financially and with our time).
